Who can complain?

Any person, group of people, body or organisation which is directly affected by a decision or failure to act by an agency within Ombudsman SA’s jurisdiction may make a complaint. If a person is not able to make the complaint themselves, a representative (e.g. relative or carer, solicitor or Member of Parliament) of the person affected is often acceptable. The complaint should be lodged within 12 months of becoming aware of the incident which is the subject of the complaint.
