Who can Complain?
Any person, group of people, body or organisation which is directly affected by a decision or failure to act by an agency within Ombudsman SA’s jurisdiction may make a complaint.
If a person is not able to make the complaint themselves, a representative (e.g. parent or carer, solicitor or next of kin) is often acceptable as a representative of the person affected.
The person making the complaint, or the person on behalf of whom the complaint is made, must have been directly affected by the action which is the subject of the complaint.
The complaint should be lodged within 12 months of the incident which is the subject of the complaint.
